Ex-Prince Andrew ‘Gloomy’ While Royal Family Celebrated Christmas — Expert

As the royal family gathered at Buckingham Palace for King Charles’ annual Christmas lunch, the former Prince Andrew was reportedly riding alone through rain‑soaked Windsor. The contrast was hard to miss for any onlooker. While senior royals arrived smiling for the festive gathering, Andrew appeared “solemn” and isolated on horseback.

Experts says Ex-Prince Andrew’s solo horse ride contrasted Royal Family Christmas party

Speaking to The Mirror, body language expert Judi James claimed that the former Prince Andrew’s sighting away from the royal family’s Christmas get-together sent a strong message. In that, she explained that most people would try to avoid making loved ones feel guilty for attending a celebration without them. Instead, Andrew’s public appearance gave off a heavier tone.

James analyzed, “Andrew appears to have gone full-on ‘Marley’s ghost’ here, with the rain dripping of the peak of his riding hat running obligingly in front of his face like a mini-Niagara.” She added that he looked “solemn and gloomy, in complete contrast to the Firm’s selection of beaming, glowing and shiny-with Xmas excitement faces as they make their way off to the feast.”

While Andrew rode alone, Prince William and Kate Middleton arrived at the palace with Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. The annual lunch brings together extended members of the family before they split off to celebrate Christmas in smaller groups. Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie also attended, smiling as they drove through the gates.

While Andrew remains at Royal Lodge for now, he is expected to leave the grand property in the New Year. Reports claim he will move into a much smaller home on the Sandringham estate, and some of his belongings are already being moved into storage.

The contrast between the royal family’s grand Christmas gathering and the former Prince Andrew’s solitary outing made headlines, and with his move approaching, Andrew’s place within the family’s celebrations appears more distant than ever.
