Fresh off snagging the Mirrorball Trophy on Dancing with the Stars Season 34, a decade following his sister Bindi Irwin’s win, Robert Irwin is spilling the tea on whether his mom, Terri Irwin, might hit the dance floor next.

Robert Irwin spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about pushing for his mom to hit the DWTS dance floor. Irwin said that he has people signing petitions, but his mother doesn’t want to do it.
He said that his mother told him, “Nope, I’m not doing it. That’s not for me.” However, Irwin doesn’t plan on backing down and will see to it that she gets there. “Well, I’m gonna wear you down. Let’s wear her down and get her on there, because I think she would be great,” Irwin told his mother.
He also shared that all the dance moves he and Bindi flaunt probably come straight from his mother. “Those dancing genes, I’m pretty darn sure they didn’t come from my dad.” The TV star continued, “He was very athletic but had no rhythm… I guess we got them from my mom. It must be. It’s only fair, right? She’s got to do it.”
Irwin and his partner Witney Carson won Season 34’s crown on November 25, while Bindi received her Mirrorball Trophy back in 2015 with Derek Hough. Terri might not have been a contestant on DWTS, but she once stole the show. Back in October, during “Dedication Night,” she joined Robert and Witney for a tear‑jerking performance to Phil Collins’ You’ll Be in My Heart.
Talking to PEOPLE about his mom’s influence, Irwin said that his mother shows what real strength is. “My mom is just such a kind and vulnerable and strong and steadfast human being.”
