Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire’s friendship in crumbles, sources suggest
According to a report by Radar Online, Leonardo DiCaprio’s friendship with Tobey Maguire is allegedly going through a rough patch. Insider sources claim that the Spider-Man star is reportedly unhappy with DiCaprio’s growing closeness with Sean Penn.
As per the report, DiCaprio has lately been out and about with his One Battle After Another co-star, spending more time together after the release of their latest movie. The budding bromance between the two Academy Award winners has reportedly upset DiCaprio’s longtime pal, Maguire.
“There is no mistaking the friendship Leo has forged with Sean over the last year and a half,” shared an insider. “Nor can you ignore how Tobey Maguire doesn’t participate in this relationship at all, and he and Leo have been friends since they were little kids,” the source added.
“Sean has demanded – and gotten – a lot of one-on-one time with Leo. They’re having long dinners, long conversations, and they’ve especially bonded over their mutual love of Italian cuisine,” continued the insider.
A source has also revealed that, unlike DiCaprio and Penn, Maguire is currently on a “strict” vegetarian diet. They further explained that “food just isn’t his love language.”
The insider concluded, “It’s bumming him out, big-time – but right now Leo’s made his choice, and Tobey’s not involved at all.”
However, the friendship appears to be still going strong as Maguire was recently spotted hanging out with DiCaprio and his girlfriend, Vittoria Ceretti. The trio reportedly enjoyed the Thanksgiving holiday last week, grabbing a meal at Nobu Malibu. Additionally, DiCaprio and Maguire were spotted enjoying a day out at California’s Venice Beach in October.
DiCaprio and Maguire first met as kids in the 1990s and have been close friends ever since. The pair also starred together in 2001’s Don’s Plum and the 2013 Baz Luhrmann adaptation of The Great Gatsby.
