The two have been together for a decade.
Ed Sheeran’s new songs seemingly hint at marriage problems
In the new edition of his album, Play, some songs seemingly hint at some ongoing problem in Ed Sheeran’s marriage. Fans have noted that multiple lyrics suggest tension in the relationship.
In his song War Game, Sheeran sings, “Inches from movin’ out and movin’ on … either in love or we’re insane.” In another song, Problems, he sings, “Flowers in our garden are dying / When did the water run dry? / Who can tell? / But you want the truth, we’re not fine.”
These lines have led to speculation that there could be trouble between Sheeran and Cherry Seaborn. The two began dating in 2015. They announced their engagement in 2017 and married the following year. They share two children, Lyra and Jupiter.
One potential challenge Sheeran may be facing is his long tours. He has been away from his children for much of their lives because of his touring schedule. He alluded to this in another song, Regrets, where he described the difficulty of connecting with his children. Sheeran sang, “You’re too young to understand that Daddy’s coming home / Every time I leave the house, you think I’m forever gone / Guess it’s from the hundred calls, goodnights on the telephone / See this tour, I’ve gotta get it done, but why though? / Missed out on so much, I really need to make it up.”
At the moment, Sheeran appears to be navigating personal challenges and is expressing those feelings through his music.
