Josh Brolin has shared a positive response to Denis Villeneuve’s involvement in the next James Bond film.
During a recent interview with The Independent, the actor spoke highly of the director’s appointment. According to Brolin, “I think it’s going to be f—— fantastic. I love spending time with him. I would do anything with Denis. Talk about a guy who hasn’t drunk the Kool-Aid.”
The two have worked together before, first on Sicario in 2015 and later on Dune and its sequel. In the same interview, Brolin also spoke briefly about his career and reflected on his time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
This is not the first time Brolin has expressed his admiration for Villeneuve. In an interview earlier this year with The Playlist, he was asked whether he would consider joining Villeneuve on Bond 26. Without hesitation, the actor stated that he would welcome any opportunity to work with him. He said, “I didn’t even have to read ‘Dune,’ even though I knew the story, to wanna do it with Denis; Denis is it for me.”
Talking about their relationship, Brolin added, “We have a very close relationship; he’s a stellar filmmaker. I like working with people I like and who are stellar filmmakers. So I have that with him, and I’m fortunate. So wherever Bond goes, it will go.”
Villeneuve’s involvement in Bond 26 was confirmed after Amazon took full creative control of the franchise. He will direct the upcoming installment from a screenplay by Steven Knight. Casting for the new 007 has not yet been announced.
