Ray J arrested and then released after domestic dispute reports
Ray J was taken into custody on November 27 after allegedly brandishing a gun at Princess Love during a livestream argument. TMZ reported that the singer was booked into a Los Angeles jail on a charge of making a criminal threat. His bail was set at $50,000, and he was released later the same day.
The livestream clip shows the former couple arguing over whether Love or her family members planned to “drive drunk.” In the video, Ray J accuses them of irresponsible behavior, saying, “Drive drunk, Princess.” Moments later, Love appears on screen holding their daughter and claims on camera, “Ray, you just pointed a gun,” to which he responds, “Drive drunk, Princess. Go ‘head. You wanna take my kids? You and ‘yo drunk cousin?”
The pair, who share two children, Melody Love, 7, and Epik Ray, 5, continue exchanging accusations as things escalate. At one point, Ray J calls Love and her cousins “alcoholics.” When he asks who will drive if they leave, Love answers, “I’m not driving! You just pointed a gun at us.” Ray J denies her claim, responding, “I didn’t point nothing at y’all.”
Furthermore, Love also calls the musician “a woman abuser.” In the same video, she announces, “I called the police,” prompting Ray J to reply, “I’ll shoot the fu**ing police.” The outlet reported that Ray J started the livestream by declaring he was having “the worst Thanksgiving in the fu**ing world.” The outlet also noted that the video appears to show him holding a gun and saying, “If these n***** step foot close to this door I’m going to blow this fu**ing sh*t away, bro.”
Ray J and Princess Love married in 2016, and the latter filed for divorce in February 2024.
