In a shocking turn of events, popular R&B singer Mario Dewar Barrett had to go through a highly unpleasant interaction with a fan while performing onstage during his latest concert. The 39-year-old, unfortunately, became subject to a sexual assault by a female fan, who decided to inappropriately grope him, resulting in Barrett confronting the perpetrator.
Singer Mario groped by alleged married fan during concert
During Mario Barrett’s November 22 concert at the Jack White Theatre at the Detroit Masonic Temple in Detroit, Michigan, a fan, who appeared to be a married woman, improperly touched the crotch of the R&B singer.
In a video shared by The Shade Room of the said incident, the female in question can be seen hovering her hand over Barrett’s private parts before ultimately groping him. The Let Me Love You singer became visibly uncomfortable following this exchange and decided to call the fan out for her ill-suited behavior.
He moved the lady’s hand away from his crotch before bowing down to confront her. “Stop doing that, please,” said Barrett in a stern manner before walking away from her. Despite the woman’s indecent antics, the R&B singer didn’t let the mishap ruin his concert and continued to perform as if nothing had happened.
Notably, eagle-eyed viewers have pointed out that the woman was wearing a wedding ring. Despite the visual evidence, the female fan’s marital status remains uncertain at the time of writing. Moreover, her identity also remains hidden as of now.
Ever since the clip of the supposedly married woman groping Mario Barrett at his concert went viral on the internet, netizens have come out to voice their opinions in the artist’s support. “We need to hold women accountable the same way a man would be for sexual assault,” wrote one fan. Another user stated, “If it was the other way around, he would’ve been in jail.” A third fan urged the authorities to take action against the lady, writing, “Should’ve had her arrested.”
