Created by Josh Fox, Spicy Summer: Bondi Beach explores the dark truth of the sex industry centered around OnlyFans models. In following Arabella Mia, Gigi Linkss, Maxine Kuerschner, and Willow Ray, who attend an adult film industry training program called XX Academy, which helps them grow their audience, the series uncovers some dark secrets (via The New York Post).

As the series unfolds, it becomes clear that the industry thrives on young women. Per the present trend, women who just turn 18 are the ones who hold the most value. They are often encouraged and expected to give a lot.

One of the episodes of the show focuses on Ray, the youngest member of the crowd, and subsequently the most valuable. She explains how she dropped out of school because of bullying due to her appearance. But she found validation in OnlyFans, marking a dangerous trend for young girls.

Fox was clear on the show that he wished for Ray to quit the industry. But it was clear that this instant social media validation was a driving force in the industry’s growth. It also helped lure in more and more young people to the platform. “Young people are basically being brainwashed by algorithms to believe that,” Fox said, “Social media is spoonfeeding that narrative to them every day—whether they want to see that content or not.”

Arabella also talked about this and added how they were labelled “MILF” by their 20s. The show also delved into the uncomfortable interactions that the creators often faced.

Fox also argued in the docuseries that consumer demands were the major reason for these trends.

Spicy Summer: Bondi Beach is available for streaming on YouTube.
