Marvel fans may soon find out that Thor isn’t the only major player in Avengers: Doomsday. A new report points to Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards having a huge role in the upcoming highly anticipated crossover.
Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards said to play a major role in Avengers: Doomsday
A recent scoop from MyTimeToShineHello has added fresh momentum to speculation about Reed Richards’ expanded role in Avengers: Doomsday. The scooper posted on X (formerly Twitter), “It does sound like Reed at the very least has a major role in Doomsday and a lot of interactions with Doom so there’s that.” This aligns with a wave of fan theories predicting Mister Fantastic’s importance in the MCU’s escalating multiverse storyline.
However, the timing of the new Reed Richards scoop is interesting. It’s coming just months after Pedro Pascal addressed rumors about his character’s Avengers trajectory. Although The Fantastic Four: First Steps director Matt Shakman initially teased by describing Reed’s evolution as “he goes from being the nerdy scientist who’s locked away in the lab, to the husband and the father who’d do anything to protect his family, to the guy who’s leading the Avengers,” Pascal quickly clarified that this shouldn’t be taken as confirmation. Speaking to the Associated Press, Pascal said, “It’s big news to me, that’s for one… It isn’t necessarily something that my character’s future entails.” He explained that Shakman’s comments referred to Reed’s arc in the comics rather than a definitive MCU plan, adding, “I am being honest in that. I am not even trying to avoid spoilers. It’s a little bit of a mislead.”
Still, the character’s importance in Fantastic Four and his confirmed return for Avengers: Doomsday alongside Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach makes the new report hard for fans to overlook.
