The Academy credited Cruise as a “committed advocate of the theatrical experience” and noted his support for the industry during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Yang also praised Allen’s impact. She said the Academy’s Board of Governors felt proud to recognize her work and described her as a “trailblazing” force in choreography and acting.
