Austin Butler-Led Caught Stealing Sets Netflix Release Date

A new development surrounding Austin Butler‘s recent film has brought it back into discussion. The plans for the streaming release date of Caught Stealing, helmed by Darren Aronofsky, are beginning to take shape. Along with Butler, the project stars Zoë Kravitz. It debuted in theaters on August 29. The film is now set to reach Netflix in select regions under Sony’s current release framework.

Caught Stealing’s streaming release date for Netflix revealed

Netflix has listed November 29 as the streaming debut for Caught Stealing in the United States, as per What’s on Netflix.

The date falls under the 2021 Netflix–Sony output agreement, which grants Netflix the first pay window after a title completes its theatrical and PVOD run. Many Sony films have previously landed on the service around 120 days after release, but the schedule varies. In this case, an earlier-than-usual digital arrival seems to have been confirmed. The title will reportedly stream only on the platform’s premium tiers because Sony’s pay-one films are not available on the ad-supported plan.

Caught Stealing features an ensemble led by Austin Butler and Zoë Kravitz, with supporting roles from Regina King, Matt Smith, Vincent D’Onofrio, and Liev Schreiber. The film follows a former baseball player drawn into New York City’s criminal underworld in the 1990s. It earned a Certified Fresh badge on Rotten Tomatoes.

Time Out called it “decently entertaining,” Los Angeles Times noted Butler’s performance positively, and The Washington Post stated, “There are pleasures here… but you have to have the patience for them.”

Box office reporting recorded more than $32 million worldwide. After its Netflix U.S. run, the film will shift to Hulu and Disney+ following an 18-month window ending in late May 2027.

International rollout might vary. India often receives Sony titles near the U.S. date, though timing is not guaranteed. Notably, the United Kingdom is expected to add the title in early to mid-2027.
