Ben Stiller Gives Great News on Severance Season 3 Release Date

Ben Stiller has shared a fresh update on one of Apple TV+’s most anticipated sci-fi series, confirming new movement on its long-awaited next chapter. The latest announcement marks a notable progress report that fans have received in months. It follows the show’s acclaimed run, strong viewership, and continued demand for the next season.

Ben Stiller discusses Severance Season 3

Ben Stiller confirmed active progress on Apple TV+’s Severance during his recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. He stated, “It’s coming…There will be another season. It will be soon-ish.” His update follows months without new information after the Season 2 finale aired on March 21, 2025.

Stiller acknowledged the long gaps between seasons and referenced the show’s slow production timeline. He said the team has produced “19 episodes over 5 and a half years” and added, “Young Sheldon’s done 600 episodes in that time.” The delays between Seasons 1 and 2 were tied to the 2023 WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.

It was confirmed that he will not direct Season 3. Stiller revealed he is stepping away from directing to focus on other commitments, including a World War II film, the next Meet the Parents installment, and another project. He seems to have notably spent the past eight months developing the new season and remains involved as an executive producer.

Earlier, Patricia Arquette, who plays Harmony, had addressed Stiller’s exit from the director’s chair. She told ScreenRant, “Well, I am not thrilled with that, I’m going to say. I’m not happy about it… I’m not down. Booooo Stiller! I’m going to get him back for Season 3.” Stiller previously helmed 11 episodes across Seasons 1 and 2.

Stiller noted that a new team of directors will be joining Season 3 and reiterated that the next chapter will arrive “soon-ish.”
