King Charles Feels Former Prince Andrew Can’t Live With Dogs — Source

King Charles III is reportedly preparing to take back the late Queen Elizabeth II’s beloved dogs from his brother, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. Sources claim that the King no longer believes the former Prince and his brother can properly care for the canines. Notably, the corgis have lived with Andrew and his former wife, Sarah Ferguson, at Royal Lodge since the Queen’s passing.

According to Rob Shuter on Substack, King Charles will retrieve former Prince Andrew’s dogs. Shuter claimed that the King believes his brother can no longer care for the corgis, who originally belonged to their mother, the late Queen Elizabeth II.

Palace insiders told the columnist that the monarch has grown “deeply unsettled” by what he sees as instability at Royal Lodge. Currently, the dogs, Muick and Sandy, live there. As such, the King reportedly feels the corgis need “a more stable home — and better judgment around them.”

The royal pets, a symbol of the late Queen’s lifelong devotion to her corgis, had become a sentimental part of her legacy. After her death, Andrew and his former wife, Sarah Ferguson, offered to take them in. Now, per the above-mentioned portal and his sources, Charles sees it differently. In that, he is already exploring ways to officially reclaim them as “part of the Crown’s living legacy.”

Consequently, the move is reportedly causing tension between the brothers. Andrew, who is in the process of moving out of Royal Lodge, is reportedly refusing to give up the dogs, with Shuter describing it as a situation that could escalate into a major family standoff.

The late Queen’s dogs were among her most cherished companions, and for King Charles, reclaiming them appears to be about protecting that legacy. Now, what happens next depends not only on royal protocol but also on family loyalty, history, and affection for the dogs who meant a great deal to the Queen.
