Will Ferrell injured on set of Netflix series, claims report
Insiders say Ferrell got hurt while filming his upcoming untitled Netflix series, which pushed production back by a week. A source told People, “He was hurt, and they needed to shift the production schedule. Because they were supposed to start shooting here this week. It’s been pushed to next week.”
The exact nature of Ferrell’s injury hasn’t been revealed, but filming will reportedly start up again in Los Angeles once he’s recovered.
The upcoming series will star Ferrell as a fictional golf icon named Lonnie “The Hawk” Hawkins, exploring the highs and lows of the pro golf world. Luke Wilson has joined the project as his fierce rival, while Molly Shannon will reportedly play a character named Stacy. Fellow SNL actor Chris Parnell has also reportedly joined the project.
Ferrell is also co-producing the series with longtime collaborators Chris Henchy and Harper Steele. Ferrell and Steele notably worked together on SNL. Harper came out as a transgender woman in 2022, and her journey was captured in the documentary Will & Harper.
Will Ferrell shot to fame on Saturday Night Live and quickly became a comedy icon with hit movies like Elf, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, Old School, Talladega Nights, and Step Brothers.
