As per PEOPLE, a declaration filed on November 10 by Wayfarer co-defendants showed author Colleen Hoover telling Justin Baldoni that she felt “forced” to take a side in his dispute with Blake Lively during the development of the “It Ends With Us” film. The filing contained what was described as text communications between Hoover and the film’s director, Baldoni.
Reports suggest that Baldoni provided his PR team with a copy of a message he said Hoover sent him on August 15, 2024. In the alleged text, Hoover wrote that she felt “on an island,” stating that the situation had escalated to the point where she believed she had been pushed into taking a position she did not want. Hoover also referenced “back and forth articles from both camps,” noting that the public exchanges were “upsetting” and had created an impression that those working on the film appeared unprofessional.
Notably, the messages described in the filing indicate Hoover also told Baldoni she had sensed a divide “long before” she had any direct involvement with Lively. She further stated that she had been “disappointed” by certain actions on his side but acknowledged that he had not publicly spoken negatively.
All in all, the message outlines Hoover’s concerns about being caught in the middle of the two central figures in the film’s production.
