Travis Kelce’s Ex ‘Ashamed’ of ‘Hurtful’ Tweets, Apologizes

Travis Kelce‘s ex-girlfriend, Kayla Nicole, recently apologized for a series of hurtful tweets she shared years ago. The problematic tweets resurfaced earlier this month and contained racist language. These tweets came after her Halloween costume sparked discussions among netizens, who believed it mocked Kelce and Taylor Swift.

Travis Kelce’s ex Kayla Nicole apologized for ‘hurtful’ tweets

Kayla Nicole apologized for the “hurtful” tweets she shared on X (formerly Twitter) 15 years ago on Instagram. These tweets resurfaced earlier this month, containing racist and homophobic language.

“I want to take a moment to sincerely apologize for the hurtful tweets I posted so many years ago,” Nicole wrote in her stories. She expressed remorse and said reading the tweets made her feel “ashamed” of the way she “thought” and “spoke.” She admitted that her words were “ignorant, hurtful, and completely wrong.”

Nicole emphasized that she would never use insulting words or express prejudiced views today, as she was no longer that kind of person. She touched upon online hate’s negative impact, adding that she did not want to contribute to it in any way. She also revealed that she deleted the tweets and her X (formerly Twitter) account altogether, stating that she did not want to feed the “cycle of hate.”

“I take full responsibility for what I posted,” she further stated. “And I’m truly sorry to anyone I may have hurt.” She stressed that she now believes in “empathy, love, and respect for others.”

She concluded by acknowledging that while she cannot change her past, she will continue proving she has changed through her actions.

This apology comes a few weeks after Nicole recreated one of Toni Braxton‘s looks from the latter’s music video, “He Ain’t Man Enough.” Fans believed that the internet personality threw shade at Taylor Swift through the outfit. Before this, fans also believed that Swift’s song “Opalite” shaded Nicole.

However, Nicole cleared the speculation about the outfit on the November 8th episode of The Pre-Game With Kayla Nicole. She denied shading Swift through the outfit, saying she was not “in the business of tearing other women down,” but “celebrating them.” Nicole shared that the outfit was inspired by a childhood memory. She claims that it involves her “white best friend,” who was coincidentally named Taylor.
