Britney Spears has reportedly been “suspicious” of her kids’ intentions to reconnect with her. According to a source, she allegedly thinks that the reason behind her sons’ attempt to reconcile is not just love. She feels that the children are being used by her ex-husband to “monitor” her. For those unversed, the singer shares Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19, with Kevin Federline.
Britney Spears feels her ex is using her kids as a pawn, claims source
Britney Spears’ kids, Sean and Jayden, have reportedly been trying to mend their relationship with their mother. But the 43-year-old mom allegedly does not believe her sons’ claims that they “miss her.” A source told Rob Shuter, “She’s terrified Kevin is pulling the strings. She thinks every call, every ‘I miss you,’ is being analyzed.”
Reportedly, the pop sensation thinks that her ex and her kids’ father, Kevin Federline, is using them. She has allegedly accused him of manipulating their sons against her in the past. Things escalated after the excerpts from Federline’s new memoir, “You Thought You Knew,” created a buzz. In it, he claimed that their children once caught Spears watching them sleeping while holding a knife.
Now, the insider told Shuter that the “Criminal” hitmaker is struggling to open her heart for her sons. “She feels like Kevin is using the kids as pawns — first to hurt her, now to monitor her,” they added. She seemed to have “guarded” since the 47-year-old father claimed that he would support Spears and their kids’ reunion.
Despite the cooperation, the “Toxic” soloist has been reportedly feeling uneasy during her conversations with Sean and Jayden. “She doesn’t know who to trust — not even her own children,” the source said. According to one confidant, she wants to accept her boys’ love but is afraid of “another disappointment.”
In October, Spears had posted a tweet on X [formerly Twitter], slamming her sons for their limited visits. She accused Federline of “gaslighting” and mentioned that she would not always be available for her children from now on. “I have pride too,” the “Princess of Pop” wrote.
