Ariana Grande Attacked by Fan at Premiere, Co-Stars Quickly Step In

Ariana Grande was attacked at the Wicked: For Good premiere in Singapore when a fan rushed toward her on the red carpet, prompting her co-stars to step into action. The incident, captured on video and widely circulated online, showed the actress-singer visibly startled as security and cast members intervened.

Ariana Grande was charged by a male fan at Wicked: For Good premiere

At the Singapore premiere of Wicked: For Good, a man identified as Johnson Wen sprinted toward Ariana Grande and wrapped an arm around her. Grande, who was standing beside co-star Michelle Yeoh, appeared frightened as the unexpected interaction happened. Cynthia Erivo, her co-star, immediately stepped between them and tried to pull Wen away while security rushed in to manage the situation.

Wen later posted the video to his Instagram account under the name PyjamaMann, thanking Grande for “letting” him jump onto the carpet. His profile features multiple videos of him crashing concert stages and sporting events, including shows by Katy Perry and The Weeknd. Wen called himself a “mega fan” and said he was “happy” to meet Grande to NBC News, adding, “I dreamed about meeting her and now my dreams became true.”

However, the video suggested that Grande had no idea what was happening in the moment, as she appeared scared while Wen rushed in. Yeoh also moved to shield Grande, placing her arms around her to guide her away from him. Additional videos posted online showed Erivo adjusting her position to keep Grande between her and Yeoh for the rest of the carpet walk.

Grande’s fans quickly flooded Wen’s Instagram comments, defending the singer and calling out his behavior. Many described the incident as an “assault” and urged others to report his account. Some referenced Grande’s traumatic past, including the 2017 bombing at her Manchester concert that killed several people. The artist has previously spoken about experiencing anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder after the 2017 incident.
