Tom Hardy’s crime-drama series, MobLand, has received a significant Season 2 update, prompting new discussions about its upcoming release. The latest announcement addresses growing curiosity surrounding the show’s timeline and confirms that the next chapter is moving forward without the long delays some had speculated.
MobLand Season 2 is officially in production
The crime drama MobLand has moved into its next phase as production on Season 2 has officially begun.
The update was confirmed through the show’s page on X (formerly Twitter), which posted a clapperboard photo marked “Scene 1/38A Take 3” with the caption, “Momentary blissness. #MobLand Season 2 is now in production.” Paramount+ and Paramount+ UK & Ireland shared the announcement on Nov. 13, 2025, confirming filming has started.
The post aligns with prior updates about the series’ timeline. Earlier, Joanne Froggatt, who appeared as Jan in the show, provided a filming window in September and stated, “[We] start shooting [Season 2] towards the end of October… So, a few weeks?” (via CBR)
She also said, “I’m so looking forward to going back to film Season 2 of MobLand. I loved, loved, loved it. I mean, it was such a great script and such a great character. Just incredible cast. Yeah, I feel really, really blessed.” Froggatt added, “I always wanted to play a gangster’s wife or a gangster, and then she came my way.”
Ronan Bennett created MobLand, building on his work from The Day of the Jackal. Paramount+ developed the series, and Guy Ritchie produced it. The cast features Tom Hardy as Harry Da Souza, Pierce Brosnan as Conrad Harrigan, Helen Mirren as Maeve Harrigan, and Paddy Considine.
The first season premiered on March 30, 2025. Paramount+ renewed the series weeks after the Season 1 finale.
Notably, the team has yet to announce a release date for Season 2.
