Riverdale’s Lili Reinhart Reveals Her Thoughts on the CW Show

Lili Reinhart is not trying to distance herself from the show that made her a household name. The actress had spent seven seasons playing Betty Cooper on Riverdale. And even though The CW drama had “crazy” plotlines, the actress says that it played a huge role in the growth of her career. Now that she has moved on to other projects, Reinhart recalled the value of the long run she had on the set.

Lili Reinhart refuses to bash Riverdale

Lili Reinhart says that Riverdale was far from ordinary; however, it helped her get where she is. The show was based on the Archie Comics and aired on The CW. It explored murder mysteries, musical numbers and even twists that are often seen on soap operas. The actress claims that this variety forced her to try many kinds of acting and taught her how to adapt.

Reinhart said in an interview with Marie Claire, “Anyone who bashes the work that got them to where they are is doing themselves a great disservice. Call the show crazy. It was. It gave me so much, and I’m so thankful for it. I’m not delusional about the fact that I’m sitting in my house because of Riverdale. I’m not embarrassed by it.”

She also highlighted the diversity of acting skills that she developed because of it. Reinhart said, “I feel like I could do anything because I had this seven-year runway of experience.”

Right now, the actress is taking on a variety of roles that feel personal. She is currently starring in Hal & Harper. It is created by Cooper Raiff and is an indie dramedy. She says she is using momentum from Riverdale to take on these new projects. Raiff had cast Reinhart after witnessing the variety of her work. He was struck by her ability to draw depth in a role.

He claimed, “When I watched her in interviews, and also when I watched her range—I saw Hustlers and I saw Chemical Hearts, and I’ve seen scenes from Riverdale—it’s very clear that she’s a very deep human being, and she’s very soulful.”

The filmmaker continued, “She’s a great actress, and she’s very talented, but I think the main thing that I felt was just how much depth she has, and that she has so many different things inside of her to explore. Lili just jumps out. The camera sees all of it.”
