Gwyneth Paltrow gets real about anxiety on her podcast

Gwyneth Paltrow dons many hats as an entrepreneur, mom, actress, and so on. And while talking about juggling multiple roles, on her “the goop podcast,” released November 11, the actress opened up about her anxiety.

During the podcast, the 53-year-old spoke candidly about the “hormonal phase of life,” with moderator Zanna Roberts Rassi. She opened up about her issue, saying, “I have a lot of anxiety for the very first time in my life, which is just a symptom of hormonal changes.”

The Goop founder thinks that “it’s an estrogen dominance thing. It makes you really anxious.” Thus, she believes it “part of it is physiological, part of it is psychological, part of it’s emotional, and part of it’s public life.”

Sharing more about the reason behind her feelings, the “Marty Supreme” star said it’s mainly because of being in the public eye since her teen days. “And so I think whenever we’re at the mercy of people’s opinions and all the energy behind the opinions — I’m very sensitive, as most of us are — so I feel that and it kind of frays my nervous system,” Paltrow noted, as per Huffpost.

In the podcast, she even revealed that due to this, she even “have intrusive thoughts,” which she had never had before.

But what calms her down is her family and kids. “And then I get a lot of healing from my family, from my kids and my husband,” she said. The icon further admitted that if she is with “all four kids,” her husband, Brad Falchuk, “under one roof” her “nervous system calms down,” making her feel much better and relaxed.
