George Clooney on striking a balance between parenting and career
Reportedly, George Clooney has opened up about how he and his wife, Amal Clooney, manage to balance their thriving careers with family life. The Oscar-winning actor and director, who shares 8-year-old twins Alexander and Ella with Amal, revealed that maintaining that equilibrium is all about teamwork and timing.
In an exclusive interview with E! News at the Los Angeles premiere of his new film “Jay Kelly” on Nov. 11, Clooney explained that he and Amal coordinate their schedules to ensure one parent is always home with the children. “You try to pace it so that I’m doing it then she’s home and then she leaves, and I’m at home,” he said, adding that they “try to mix it up a little bit.”
However, the 64-year-old acknowledged that there’s no perfect formula for balancing work and parenthood. “You’re never gonna get it all right—no one does,” Clooney admitted. “But you gotta go to work too, so you do the best you can.”
His wife, Amal Clooney, a prominent human rights lawyer, has also spoken about how their partnership enables her to pursue her career while raising their children. In a previous interview with Glamour magazine, Amal praised her husband for his unwavering support, recalling that George was immediately supportive, telling her she needed to attend her scheduled speech at the “Security Council” and assuring her that he “got the kids” so she need not worry.
Together, the couple continues to navigate their demanding professions while prioritizing family life.
