Gal Gadot Awarded With Israel’s Prestigious Genesis Prize

Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot has won the 2026 Genesis Prize, which is Israel’s prestigious award given to an individual for their professional excellence and their commitment to Jewish values. As a part of the Genesis Prize, the winner gets $1 million, which they usually donate to a philanthropic cause. In a statement, the actress spoke about being a “proud Jew and Israeli” and how she feels “humbled to receive the prize.”

Gal Gadot wins Genesis Prize for ‘steadfast defense of Israel’

The Snow White actress was recently announced as the 2026 Genesis Prize laureate. Following this, she said she will donate the money to Israeli non-governmental organizations.

Gal Gadot also mentioned in a statement that she feels humbled to stand alongside the previous laureates of this accolade. She spoke of her love for her country and mentioned, “I am a proud Jew and a proud Israeli. I love my country and dedicate this award to the organizations who will help Israel heal and to those incredible people who serve on the front lines of compassion.” (via Genesis Prize Foundation)

“Israel has endured unimaginable pain. Now we must begin to heal — to rebuild hearts, families, and communities,” Gadot added in her statement. This comes after the Red Notice star stood up for her country during the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack. She called out for international support to secure the release of the women taken hostage by the terrorist group in Gaza.

In November 2023, Gadot also reportedly helped organize a screening of the atrocities committed by Hamas terrorists at the Museum of Tolerance in West L.A.

Meanwhile, Stan Polovets, the Co-Founder and Chairman of The Genesis Prize Foundation, shared, “Gal Gadot’s moral clarity and unwavering love for Israel have inspired millions.” He further mentioned that the award recognizes “her steadfast defense of Israel at great personal and professional risk.”

“Her decision to turn the Genesis Prize honor into a mission of healing embodies the very purpose of the Prize,” Polovets added.

Last year, Argentinian president, Javier Milei, received the Genesis Prize for fostering the relationship between Israel and Latin American nations. Earlier winners include Michael Bloomberg, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Steven Spielberg, Natan Sharansky, and Barbra Streisand.
