David Harbour suits up for new movie role
Fans recently spotted David Harbour on Monday, November 10, as he filmed for the upcoming true-crime thriller Evil Genius, directed by Courteney Cox. The actor showcased a major transformation for his new role, looking unrecognizable in a fat suit.
The photos capture Harbour wearing a blue button-down shirt and denim overalls. His usual lean physique appears to be covered by a padded suit, creating a whole new look for the Stranger Things star. Additionally, Harbour sported a full gray beard and disheveled gray hair.
Another photo shows Harbour chatting with director Courteney Cox while holding what appears to be a script. A third picture features the actor walking down the New Jersey filming location, wearing black-rimmed glasses and a brown jacket draped over his costume.
According to several reports, Harbour is playing the lead role of Brian Douglas Wells in Evil Genius. Wells was a real-life pizza deliveryman who died in 2003 while robbing a PNC Bank in Erie, Pennsylvania. Dubbed the “pizza bomber,” he became the subject of intense media coverage at the time.
Wells’ involvement in the robbery came under debate when he maintained his innocence throughout the ordeal. What followed was an extensive FBI investigation that uncovered one of the most intricate criminal schemes in the nation’s history.
Courteney Cox, who is directing the movie, revealed that she was inspired by the 2018 Netflix documentary Evil Genius: The True Story of America’s Most Diabolical Bank Heist. Speaking with Deadline, Cox said that the story is “stranger than fiction.”
Evil Genius began principal photography in November 2025 and has yet to announce a release window. Besides David Harbour, the movie also stars Patricia Arquette, Michael Chernus, Garret Dillahunt, Danielle Macdonald, and others.
