Johnny Depp Banned From Watching Daughter’s Adult TV Series

Johnny Depp might be a star to the world, but for his daughter, he is just her loving father. Just like any other daughter, Lily Rose Depp isn’t comfortable about her father watching her reel, yet explicit scenes from the TV series, The Idol. Looks like Depp too isn’t much keen on watching his daughter in the racy show. Hence, the father-daughter duo had arrived at a mutual understanding post the show’s release that bans Johnny from watching his daughter’s adult TV series.

Johnny Depp hasn’t watched his daughter Lily-Rose’s The Idol

Johnny Depp hasn’t watched his daughter Lily-Rose Depp’s HBO series “The Idol”. While the Pirates of the Caribbean has himself starred in numerous movies featuring sexual themes, he can’t bring himself to watch his daughter doing explicit scenes.

The actor made this surprising revelation during his appearance on the popular Argentine talk show Cortá por Lozano. When asked by the show’s host, Vero Lozano, about his experience of seeing his daughter on screen in The Idol, Depp revealed that he never entirely watched it. The Alice in Wonderland actor laughingly added that there are certain images he doesn’t need to see as Lily’s father. Depp further informed that he had asked his daughter if he should watch the racy series, to which she replied with a staunch no.

Johnny, however, went on to watch bits of the show. The Golden Globe awardee revealed to Vero that he watched “The Idol” with his friends. Depp shared that he ducked down when an adult scene came up and asked his friends to tell him when it ended.

Having said that, Johnny expressed that he is extremely proud and supportive of his daughter. Hailing his daughter’s performance, he expressed that he’s ecstatic about Lily forging her own path and challenging herself with complex roles. Speaking about his stance on his daughter playing a provocative role in “The Idol”, Depp said that he is proud of her for pushing boundaries and delving into darker themes in her work.
