Why Chrishell Stause Is Leaving Selling Sunset Revealed

Chrishell Stause is leaving Selling Sunset after Season 9. She feels the reality TV show has reached a point where it’s no longer mentally healthy for her to remain involved. In a recent interview, she expressed how worn down she is. She does not like how the scenes are edited on the show and is ready to move on to jobs that feel better for her mental health.

Chrishell Stause explains why she is leaving Selling Sunset

Chrishell Stause explains that leaving Selling Sunset was not an easy decision for her. She expressed her gratitude for the opportunities that the show has brought to her. However, things have now tipped her in favor of leaving.

Explaining her thought process in an interview with Bustle, Stause said, “I’ve vacillated back and forth with this decision in the past. I have to be honest — having come from nothing, it’s really hard to turn something like this down… I’ve gotten to a place where I don’t need the show financially. I’m lucky to have other forms of employment, because it’s no longer good for my mental health.”

Stause further explained that she understands the concept of the show. And she would have had no problem continuing if there were “less problematic people” around her. However, the journey is no longer aligning with her mental health.

One of the main conflicts that Stause has this season is with Emma Hernan’s boyfriend, Blake Davis. She shared, “He constantly posts anti-trans stuff… He thinks it’s too woke if you don’t sing the N word in songs. He posted something the other day, with a gun in view, saying he wants to ‘sue [me for lying] my d— off.'” She also said that Davis compared being non-binary to having a mental illness.

She also spoke about her issues with how the producers edit the show, which, according to her, portrays her in a bad light. “With Emma, I just look like an overbearing friend.” Stause continued, “But there are so many things that would’ve completely vindicated me and my opinion, and they left all of it out.”
