Sophie Rain recently announced that she’ll be helping those financially affected by the U.S. government shutdown, drawing a comment from the official X account of Uber. Fans quickly stormed the OnlyFans star’s post, replying with their payment IDs.
Uber X messaged Sophie Rain for SNAP money
In a now-deleted reply to Sophie Rain’s post on X, the official Uber account mentioned their PayPal ID. Rain posted a video on the platform, announcing that she would love to use her privilege to give back to the community. The 21-year-old model mentioned that with the U.S. government shutdown still being in effect, and the pause on SNAP funding covering grocery costs for millions of people, she’d like to lend a financial hand.
“And I used to live off food stamps, so I get it. I’ve been in that position before,” Rain said in the video. Further, she mentioned that she’ll be picking people throughout the week, as she asked them to drop their payment methods in reply to her post. While hundreds of fans quickly flooded the comments sections with their CashApp, Venmo and PayPal IDs, the official Uber account also jumped into the pool. The now-deleted reply reportedly read, “Xoxosamyo on PayPal,” with a crying emoji and a heart. Screenshots of the reply from the official Uber account quickly went viral all over social media.
Rain wrote in her caption, “I am giving out money to help those in need this week during the government shut down. if you or anyone you know needs assistance this week please drop any payment method below so i can lend a helping hand.” The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), also known as food stamps, reportedly provides food assistance to over 42 million Americans. However, as per the BBC, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, which runs the program, recently said, “States must immediately undo any steps taken to issue full SNAP benefits for November 2025.”
