In a clip going viral on social media, the legendary soccer player made a wholesome gesture towards his mother, Celia Cuccittini. The Argentine marked his 400th career assist after Inter Miami’s win on November 8.

Lionel Messi celebrated his 400th assist after Inter Miami’s 4-0 win against Nashville SC on Saturday. Now, Inter Miami has advanced to the Conference Semifinals. On top of it all, the night turned out to be extra special for Messi.
Completing his 400th career assist for club and country, Messi has gotten closer to breaking the record for most career assists. Currently held by one of the greatest soccer players of all time, Ferenc Puskas, the record for most all-time assists stands at 404.
However, as he celebrated this milestone post-match, he shared a sweet moment with his mother. As Messi walked to where his family waited to congratulate him, he threw his jersey to his mother. Beaming with pride for her son and his latest achievement, Messi’s mother kissed his jersey before directing a flying kiss towards him.
Soon, this moment of Messi celebrating with his parents, wife, and sons went viral, as a fan wrote under the clip, “that’s so wholesome.” Another fan wrote, “Beautiful moment, you can see how much it means after everything they’ve been through together.”
If Inter Miami continues to win, Messi might have a chance to set the record for most assists before the end of the season.
