Olivia Rodrigo Isn’t Happy With Donald Trump Admin Using Her Song

Olivia Rodrigo blasts the Donald Trump administration for using her song “All-American B****” in a video on social media warning illegal immigrants to leave the country. Notably, the song is part of Rodrigo’s second studio album, Guts, released in 2023.

Olivia Rodrigo slams Donald Trump admin for using her song

Olivia Rodrigo is not pleased with the Donald Trump administration for using her song “All American B****” in one of their Instagram videos. In the clip, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is chasing down people believed to be illegal immigrants and forcing them out of the U.S. The first part of the video is titled “If ICE finds you” in bold letters. In the second part of the clip, people appear to be happily and voluntarily leaving the country. The second part of the video is titled “If you self-deport.”

Olivia’s song has been removed from the Instagram video now. However, her song was originally used in the clip (via Billboard). The Instagram video is captioned, “LEAVE NOW and self-deport using the CBP Home app. If you don’t, you will face the consequences.”

However, Olivia was not having it and furiously wrote, “Don’t ever use my songs to promote your racist, hateful propaganda.” Her comment isn’t visible anymore, but users have backed the “Vampire” singer in the comments section.

One user commented, “I LOVE OLIVIA RODRIGO HAHAHAHA SHE TOOK HER OWN SONG DOWN SO THAT THEY COULDN’T USE IT,” followed by multiple emoticons. Another user wrote, “DON’T USE OLIVIA’S MUSIC FOR YOUR ADVERTISEMENTS.”

On November 7, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the White House stated, “America is grateful all the time for our federal law enforcement officers who keep us safe. We suggest Ms. Rodrigo thank them for their service, not belittle their sacrifice” (USA Today).

This isn’t the first time Olivia has debarred the Donald Trump administration from using any of her songs for their political campaigns. In November 2024, Team Trump had used the singer’s song “deja vu” to post a celebratory video on TikTok. The track was later removed from the video.
