Hazbin Hotel Season 3 To Reveal Why Rosie Owns Alastor’s Soul

Hazbin Hotel creator Vivienne Medrano recently shared how the soul ownership deal between the two major characters, Alastor and Rosie, will impact Season 3. The sophomore season of Hazbin Hotel premiered on October 29, 2025, on Prime Video and is ongoing. Meanwhile, Seasons 3 and 4 of the renowned animated series were greenlit in July 2024.

Vivienne Medrano says Rosie and Alastor’s deal will lead to ‘a much bigger story’ in Hazbin Hotel Season 3

The creator of Hazbin Hotel recently shared how Season 3 will dive deeper into Alastor’s soul ownership deal.

In Episode 4 of Season 2, fans learned about Alastor the Radio Demon’s past life and how he was a serial killer. This leads him to be sure that he is going to hell. Thus, he strikes a deal with Rosie, who is the Overlord of the Cannibal community in Hell. According to this deal, Alastor would get the title of the most powerful sinner in hell, but he has to give his soul to Rosie for that.

Polygon asked Vivienne Medrano how Rosie could pull off such a thing and if she was too strong a character. To this, she replied that the deal is a significant part of Season 3 and will be explored in it fully.

Medrano shared, “The Rosie and Alastor deal is the first stepping stone in a much bigger story that involves so much, moving into season 3. Obviously, that is a perfect question: How is she that powerful? The answer could be many things, but the answer is in Season 3. I’m very excited for people to see it.”

Furthermore, the animator and producer revealed that Hazbin Hotel Season 3 will delve into why Alastor was absent for seven years upon Rosie’s orders. Medrano added, “The whole seven years, and the deals these humans are doing, and all that — it’s feeding into a bigger narrative.”
