Sydney Sweeney revealed how she is dealing with “noise” amid ex and jeans ad drama in an interview with Extra TV. The actress is promoting her new sports biopic movie Christy, based on the life of the audacious female boxer Christy Martin.
Mona Kosar Abdi of Extra TV asked her, “You also talked about how you were shocked that your American Eagle ad had reached the White House, and how it created so much conversation about who you are and what you stand for. How do you process when there is so much perception being projected onto you?”
Sweeney replied, “You just know who you are, and the people who matter are your friends and your family. They know who I am. And to me, like, that’s what’s most important. Everything else is just noise. It’s all just headlines.” She continued, “I’m just surrounded by really good people. And I love my job, and I love my characters, and I just stay focused.”
Recently, in an exclusive interview with GQ magazine, Sweeney addressed the controversy surrounding her jeans ad. She remarked, “I did a jean ad. I mean, the reaction definitely was a surprise, but I love jeans. All I wear are jeans. I’m literally in jeans and a T-shirt every day of my life.”
Futhermore, the interviewer noted that fans were unhappy with the jeans ad for allegedly promoting genetic superiority. To this, the White Lotus alum replied, “I think that when I have an issue that I want to speak about, people will hear.”
Sweeney was also in the news recently for an alleged reunion with ex-fiancé Jonathan Davino. The pair met late on November 1, Saturday night. The couple, who had been together for seven years, broke up in March this year (via Page Six).
