Mille Bobby Brown Is Firm on Protecting Daughter’s Privacy

Millie Bobby Brown has entered a new chapter of her life, one that’s far removed from Hollywood red carpets and supernatural monsters. The “Stranger Things” star, now 21, recently revealed she and husband, Jake Bongiovi, have adopted a baby girl, marking the start of her journey into motherhood. But while the world may be eager for details, Brown is making one thing very clear. She intends to fiercely protect her daughter’s privacy and allow her to share her own story when the time is right.

Millie Bobby Brown wants her daughter to share her story herself

In a recent interview with British Vogue, Millie Bobby Brown opened up about life away from the spotlight, her marriage to Bongiovi, and the couple’s new addition to the family. Speaking with her characteristic mix of candor and conviction, the actor explained why she’s choosing to keep her daughter out of the public eye.

“For me, it’s really important to protect her and her story until she’s old enough to potentially one day share it herself,” Brown said firmly. “It’s not my place to purposefully put her in the spotlight unwillingly.”

It’s a stance that highlights just how far Brown has come since her early fame. Catapulted into stardom at the age of 10 for her breakout role as Eleven in Netflix’s “Stranger Things,” she knows firsthand what it’s like to have her identity and life dissected in the public domain. That scrutiny, she admits, has made her more guarded, especially now as a parent.

Brown and Bongiovi, who wed in May last year, have built a quiet life on their Georgia farm. “Our days are filled with lots of cuddles and laughter and love,” she said of their new family life. The actor spoke glowingly of her husband’s support, describing him as an “amazing dad” and an equal partner in parenting.

While fans may be curious about the baby’s name or personality, Brown isn’t budging. She told Vogue she has no plans to reveal those details until her daughter is old enough to decide for herself. “As her parents, it’s our job to protect her from that,” she said simply.

For Brown, who has long balanced ambition with authenticity, motherhood seems to have sharpened her sense of purpose. “Perspective is a huge thing,” she shares. “The smaller things in life are so much more precious.”

And as for her daughter’s story — that, Brown insists, will be hers alone to tell.
