Shaq Wants to Find a Wife Through Reality Show

Former NBA veteran Shaquille O’Neal, fondly referred to as Shaq by fans, seemingly wants to find himself a wife, albeit in a somewhat unconventional manner. In a recent interview, the retired sportsman expressed interest in seeking a wife through a dating show involving female participants competing for the title of Mrs. O’Neal.

Shaq pitches Andy Cohen a dating show

During his recent appearance on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live, Shaq addressed the idea of his marriage, noting that he has a reality series in mind which will help him select his next wife.

In his pitch to Cohen, the four-time NBA champion titled the dating show ‘The Next Mrs. O’Neal’ and also revealed the persona of the contestants he has in mind for the series. “A lawyer, stripper, somebody from abroad, and then two wild girls,” the former LA Lakers man listed.

After listening to Shaq’s unique idea about finding a wife, Cohen inquired whether the participants would compete against one another to earn the basketball icon’s hand in marriage. O’Neal simply replied with a resounding “yes.”

When asked how his fiancée would feel about participating in a competition, Shaq responded that he doesn’t have one yet and that the show itself would help him find a prospect.

After understanding the terms of Shaq’s proposed dating show, Andy Cohen suggested adding a star from The Real Housewives franchise to the list of contestants. The renowned radio and television talk show host stated, “We can have a little Bravo crossover,” prompting Shaq to say, “Alright, dude.”

Notably, Shaquille O’Neal has already been married, who tied the knot with VH1 veteran Shaunie Nelson in 2002. The couple welcomed four children during their union, with Shaq also adopting Nelson’s son from her previous relationship. After facing several hurdles in their love life, the two decided to part ways, with their divorce finalized in 2011.
