Hilaria Baldwin recently delved into how her Dancing With the Stars outfits left bruises on her body. She said that she was in “awful pain” during one of her performances, and emphasized that her last outfit was her “least favorite.”
Hilaria Baldwin says she was ‘bruised’ because of ‘tight’ DWTS outfits
During Tori Spelling’s misSPELLING podcast, Hilaria Baldwin, a celebrity contestant for DWTS Season 34, opened up about the physical toll her outfits on the show took on her.
“It was actually really, really tight,” Baldwin revealed. “They made it a little bit too tight on my neck. So, I was bruised the next day on all of my collarbones and the back of my neck because of how tight the dress was,” she added.
Baldwin explained that the tightness was a security measure by the costume department to avoid any wardrobe malfunctions.
Looking back on her next performance, Baldwin shared, “The week afterwards, we did tango. My elbows—like, we had to tape them because I was getting this awful pain in my elbows from, you know, he [Gleb Savchenko] threw me around into a trick towards the end.”
Baldwin also reflected on her final outfit on the show, when she wore Carrie Fisher’s Princess Leia costume during the “Disney Night” episode. She said, “The last outfit was probably my least favorite because it was just so much fabric. And it was like, we kept catching each other on it. It was hard to dance.”
Despite all the physical challenges, Baldwin expressed that a lot of good things came out of the show. She admitted that she has become “life-long” friends with her dance partner, Gleb Savchenko. She said that even her kids have taken a liking to him.
Baldwin and Savchenko exited the show in week four. However, she said that she had already planned her performance for the upcoming “Dedication Night.” She was going to dedicate her performance to her husband, actor Alec Baldwin. She revealed that she was going to dance to their first wedding dance song, saying that the performance would’ve been “iconic.”
