Whoopi Goldberg Denies Saying the ‘Bad Word’ on The View

Whoopi Goldberg discussed the ongoing government shutdown on The View, during which her audio was briefly censored. When the sound returned, the audience and co-hosts Alyssa Farah Griffin and Sunny Hostin appeared visibly shocked. The moment sparked curiosity among viewers about what Goldberg had said to prompt such a reaction.

Whoopi Goldberg speaks on her censored comment on The View

After the commercial break ended, Goldberg addressed her censored words on The View. She said, “Just so we’re all clear, our people just got a call, saying, ‘Whoopi just said a bad word. Do you have a comment?’ I didn’t say the bad word. I did not say it,” she said.

“But, so, I know that you’re sitting, waiting for me to do something, waiting for something to happen. Could you just watch the show? I’d appreciate it if you just watched the show, and then you’ll know what really went on,” Goldberg added (via Entertainment Weekly).

She further quipped, “And do play it back the 50 times that you’re going to do.” Her on-air outburst comes in light of her discussion around the ongoing US government shutdown. She shared her opinion, saying that the shutdown “should not be affecting the American people” and that “these are decisions that you don’t have the right to…”  She then appeared to have uttered the F word, which was censored.

Whatever Goldberg said after the curse word was also muted, which left many wondering about what she said next. When the audio returned, Griffin raised her hand, saying, “You caught it!”

The audience and Hostin were also left in shock. Goldberg further kept her hands on her face briefly and had a funny expression. She said, “Well, you know where I’m at.” The show went on a commercial break and returned with Goldberg addressing the comment.
