Shortly after Jamie Lee Curtis addressed the backlash she faced when she commented about Charlie Kirk‘s death, there was another round of debate, this time about Curtis’ explanation for her comment. Megyn Kelly, the former Fox News personality, criticized Curtis’s remarks, calling her explanation “dishonest.”
Megyn Kelly criticizes Jamie Lee Curtis over her new comments on Charlie Kirk
Jamie Lee Curtis previously faced a round of backlash for her comments about Kirk back in September. Curtis then told Variety in a recent interview that what she said about Kirk’s death on the WTF podcast was misinterpreted.
Megyn Kelly has now criticized Curtis’s most recent remarks. “We gave her credit at the time because, even though she has a trans kid, and recognized Charlie didn’t — he was where I am on the trans issues — she recognized a man had been killed,” Kelly said about Curtis.
Referring to Curtis’ recent explanation that she was talking about Kirk’s faith in god during a previous interview on the WTF podcast, Kelly said, “That is completely dishonest. She walked this back because she clearly got blowback over it.” She added that Curtis’ clarification “actively endangers those of us who are on the right and who are out here speaking to crowds and keep this conversation going.”
Curtis told that outlet that fans criticizing her had “mistranslated what I was saying as I wished him well — like I was talking about him in a very positive way, which I wasn’t; I was simply talking about his faith in God.”
