Travis Kelce recently reacted to a shirtless fan shown on camera, playfully pointing out that they share similarities when it comes to ‘furriness.’ The comment came during a post-game interview following the Commanders vs. Chiefs match, where the latter emerged victorious. The game was significant for Kelce, as he reached his 83rd career touchdown, tying with Priest Holmes, who held the record for the most touchdowns in Chiefs history.
Travis Kelce compares himself to shirtless Chiefs fan
Kelce recently appeared on ESPN’s SportsCenter with Scott Van Pelt after the Chiefs’ 28-7 win over the Washington Commanders. During the interview, a lucky fan was shown on camera. He was shirtless, hairy, and had Kelce’s jersey painted on his body. Kelce acknowledged him and shared his thoughts on the fan’s look.
Pointing at the camera on which the fan was shown, Kelce said, “That’s actually what I look like too, man. Just as furry, just as furry.” The tight end also addressed his latest career milestone and what lies ahead for him in the NFL. “I just cherish these moments, man, coming out here, being able to play at Arrowhead… This place is special, man, and I love it here. In terms of the historical stuff, I’m still looking at the next game and the next catch and trying to get better every single day,” he added.
Notably, in an old New Heights podcast, Jason Kelce referred to Travis as Big Yeti, mentioning that this is the best nickname he earned during his time at the University of Cincinnati. Kelce then shared the origin story of the name, saying, “I had the big beard, I had the long hair, I had the chest hair, back hair, arm hair, leg hair… I was just a big ole Yeti out there, man. All the homies on the court were calling me ‘Big Yeti’ — especially ‘cause I was a low post player, so I was just down there giving work, handing out work in the post.”
