Elaine Hendrix couldn’t make it to the Dancing With the Stars ballroom over the Halloween weekend. Her performance with pro partner Alan Bersten was judged based on their rehearsal. Hendrix later took to social media to address her absence and reveal when she’ll be returning to the stage.
Here’s why Elaine Hendrix missed Dancing with the Stars Halloween Night
During rehearsals, Hendrix suffered a rib injury, leading to her hospitalization for further medical assessment. Therefore, she missed Dancing with the Stars Halloween Night. However, their rehearsals were judged for points, and even fans were allowed to vote as normal, despite the contestant’s absence.
Although the duo wasn’t present to showcase their impressive dance moves, their rehearsal was met with praise from the judges. Derek Hough praised Hendrix’s performance by saying, “She is a born performer… Even in that rehearsal, she was so impressive.” Her performance received 32 out of 40 points. Her pro partner, Bersten, revealed that doctors have greenlit her return to the show.
Hendrix also took to Instagram to share a video from the hospital room, addressing her latest absence and expected return to DWTS. Revealing when she faced the injury, she said, “Hi, so, obviously I’m not in the ballroom. I injured my ribs during ‘Defying Gravity,’ and today they just seized up and I couldn’t move.” The DWTS contestant further shared that doctors have advised that with a day or two of rest, she would be able to return.
Her caption further read, “Halloween is my favorite, and I’m devastated. I was beyond excited to share what we had worked so hard on, although you’ll see a version of it. With your support, I’ll be back in the ballroom next week. I want nothing more.” She also sent love to her dance partner and the whole DWTS team, and expressed her gratitude for all the love and support she got from everyone.
