A year after marrying Prince Harry, the 44-year-old interviewed her friend and the former first lady, Michelle. She asked the latter questions about motherhood in the 2019 issue of British Vogue. Their bond seemed to strengthen through the chat as Markle, who was a new mom at the time, formed a deep connection with the 61-year-old.
Meanwhile, the outlet reported that the “Suits” alum made her admiration evident at the recent Fortune Most Powerful Women Summit. She apparently linked her and the duke’s Netflix deal with the Obamas’ partnership with Higher Ground Productions. “My husband and I were in an overall deal with Netflix then, not dissimilar to Higher Ground and the Obamas’ deal,” she said at the event on Tuesday, per Page Six.
Therefore, a Hollywood insider told Shuter that the mother of two not only admires the Obamas but “wants to be them.” The Sussexes want to be recognized as “the global power couple,” just like the former president and his wife, who have “walked away from politics but kept their influence.” Markle might have found the situation relatable, as she and Harry, too, left their royal duties behind and moved to California with their children.
