Cheryl Hines discusses husband Robert F. Kennedy Jr. during The View appearance
Cheryl Hines, known for her role on Curb Your Enthusiasm, defended her husband, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., during a heated interview on The View.
The discussion started when Hines praised her husband, saying that he’s “completely different from anyone I’ve met in my life.” Then Joy Behar responded, “That’s for sure.” Hines replied, “I know you ladies love to talk about him.”
Sunny Hostin then asked about her husband’s shift from a Democrat to a Trump supporter during his presidential campaign and whether she shares her concerns with him.
The Curb Your Enthusiasm actress replied, “I always share all of my concerns with my husband. I have not been a political person. I haven’t posted anything on social media other than go out and vote, and I never told people who they should vote for.” However, Hines also acknowledged that it was a “complicated” and “very difficult decision” for her husband to “make with President Trump.” She called it a big “leap,” adding that it was “a crazy year-and-a-half.”
Later, Hines also highlighted Trump’s attempt to reduce the price of prescribed drugs. Behar noted that “it’s not fair” to put Hines on the spot, but also spoke about Kennedy and Trump “casting doubts on the efficacy” of the vaccines.
Addressing the controversy, Hines replied, “Yes, to vaccines, yes, they are an important part of our healthcare. Can we do better? Can we make them safer? And can we listen to parents who say my child got the vaccine and changed and stopped hitting markers, stopped developing the way they were developing?”
The discussion intensified when Whoopi Goldberg highlighted concerns about RFK Jr.’s suitability for the HHS role, saying, “He’s not a doctor and he’s not a professional.” She further added, saying that when Kennedy is speaking, he does so without the “best information.”
Hines responded by emphasizing that many previous HHS secretaries lacked medical degrees, pointing out that some, like Barack Obama, had a background in economics.
