Reports confirmed that Alec and Stephen Baldwin crashed their white Range Rover in East Hampton. The two were in town for the Hamptons International Film Festival.

Photos from the scene show that the crash badly crumpled the SUV’s hood and left the driver’s door open. First responders surrounded the scene as Baldwin stood beside the vehicle. Baldwin family representatives have not made any comments yet.

Alec Baldwin, however, addressed the car accident in an Instagram video. He revealed that a large garbage truck cut him off, forcing him to swerve and strike a tree. He explained,

“This morning I was in a car accident. A guy cut me off with a truck, a big garbage truck. I mean, a garbage truck the size of a whale. Never seen a garbage truck like that, it must have been something commercial for taking away material from construction or something.”

He continued,

“It was the biggest garbage truck I have seen… To avoid hitting it, I hit a tree. Big fat tree. It crushed my car, my wife’s car. I crushed my wife’s car. I feel bad about that. But I’m fine, my brother’s fine.”

As the actor mentioned, reports confirmed that neither brother had major visible injuries. Police on the scene also confirmed that both were conscious and speaking with officers. The car is registered under Baldwin’s wife, Hilaria’s name.
