Elon Musk’s SpaceX Sends 11th Starship Rocket Into Space in New Video

Elon Musk’s SpaceX has released a new video showing the successful launch of its 11th Starship rocket from Texas. The powerful spacecraft completed a one-hour test flight before landing in the Indian Ocean. The achievement marks another important step in SpaceX’s long-term goal of making human space travel to Mars possible.

SpaceX has reached another major milestone as its Starship rocket completed a successful 11th flight test from the company’s South Texas launch site. The nearly hour-long mission concluded with the spacecraft safely landing in the Indian Ocean, following a series of in-flight demonstrations.

The test shows steady progress toward the company’s goal of creating a fully reusable spacecraft capable of carrying both crew and cargo beyond Earth’s orbit. During the flight, Starship deployed simulated satellites and successfully reignited one of its engines while in space. The booster stage also completed a planned descent into the Gulf of Mexico.

Founder and CEO Elon Musk made a rare on-site appearance to witness the launch in person. He remarked on SpaceX’s livestream before liftoff, “This is really the first time I’m going to be outside and watching the rocket. It’s going to be much more visceral.”

SpaceX also posted a video on X (formerly Twitter) with the caption, “Splashdown confirmed! Congratulations to the entire SpaceX team on an exciting eleventh flight test of Starship!” Many users flooded the comments section with messages of congratulations and appreciation.

This successful outcome follows a series of earlier challenges for the program, with six of ten prior test missions ending unsuccessfully.

Musk has outlined plans for the rocket to eventually carry humans to Mars, laying the groundwork for potential colonization by the mid-2030s. At the same time, NASA has designated Starship as an essential component of its Artemis program, which aims to return astronauts to the lunar surface before the decade ends. The 403-foot reusable rocket is expected to serve as the lunar lander.
