Max Ehrich, of The Young and the Restless fame, was recently arrested for allegedly assaulting a family member, and his mother has shared her take. The arrest took place after fans noticed his erratic behavior and cryptic social media posts. Following his arrest, Ehrich’s mother called out the media for their narrative on social media.
Max Ehrich’s mother says the Young and Restless actor ‘was kidnapped and forced to do drugs’
Max Ehrich’s mother, Rhonda Ehrich, wrote a statement on Instagram, claiming the media narrative surrounding his arrest was “fabricated.” Furthermore, she alleged he was kidnapped and forced to do drugs. Her statement comes after TMZ reported that the 34-year-old, once engaged to Demi Lovato, was arrested for alleged violence against a family member, aged 65 or older.
“The media and the narrative of my son attacking me is completely fabricated,” Ehrich wrote. “A short video clip of an altercation that is being exaggerated for click bait does not discern the truth of what did and didn’t happen.”
She then added that the “villain” of the situation was Ehrich’s kidnapping and forced ingestion of a “dangerous substance.” Ehrich called her son, her “best friend” and “one of the best people” she knew. “My son lives a clean, healthy and sober lifestyle,” she continued. “All my son has ever wanted was a platform to share love and goodness to the world.”
Ehrich’s mother labeled the reports surrounding his arrest as “public exaggerations” detrimental to their family. Moreover, she stressed she was pursuing legal action to clear his name. Furthermore, she discussed her struggle protecting Ehrich and watching his experience with forced drug abuse under “bad characters” in a short amount of time. She shared that her son was now in rehabilitation, getting treatment.
“A mother knows who their son is and isn’t,” she added. “Those who know the real Max Ehrich know him for the kind, respectful, loving and talented young man that I’m proud to say is my incredible inspirational, brilliant, clean living amazing son.”
Moreover, Ehrich’s mother claimed the actor was “devastated” and “extremely apologetic” for the world to see him “fall from grace.”
