Prince William’s Plans to ‘Modernize the Monarchy’ Are Seen As a Risk by Senior Royals, Says Insider

Prince William plans to modernize the British Monarchy, and this has caused a stir among men in grey suits. According to a recent report, the Prince of Wales’s vision for a modern monarchy could clash with the royal traditions.

Insider says Prince William’s vision for the future differs from some senior royals

William is a family man and reportedly wants to create a safe space with love for his wife, Kate Middleton, and his kids. The Prince of Wales wants to prioritize his family and has plans to reshape the monarchy when he becomes king. He wants to make Forest Ledge in Windsor Great Park his residence and live there with his family, even after becoming a king. He would use Buckingham Palace only for official duties. With this change, he would be the first modern monarch not to live in the royal palace.

However, sources at RadarOnline reveal that his vision doesn’t align with the royal traditions followed by the British Monarchy. As per a source, William has been warned that he “needs to be careful” about his “revolutionary ideas.”

The source added, “The monarch’s role demands that duty always comes first.” According to the royal aides, this move could weaken the monarchy’s connection with the public. The insider said, “It isn’t about personal preference – it’s about responsibility, branding, and presentation. Being monarch is a lifelong commitment, and it’s an exhausting one.”

A royal source further shed light on the matter, revealing that the royal advisers think that William is “moving too fast, too freely.” They further added that the advisors believe that “monarchy’s strength lies in its visibility and ritual.”

Insiders also believe that if Prince William “pulls back too much,” the public will “stop seeing royals out meeting people and doing engagements.” And then the bond would begin to “weaken.”
