Jeff Bridges Channels His Inner Big Lebowski & Drops an F Bomb

During a promotional interview for his upcoming film Tron: Ares, veteran actor Jeff Bridges brought back his legendary “Dude” role from The Big Lebowski. Decked out in his classic cardigan, sunglasses, and holding a White Russian, he addressed the audience in the style of his iconic character.

What Jeff Bridges said on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

On a recent episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the host handed the Iron Man star a cardigan and sunglasses to get him into his iconic “Dude” role.

Once in character, Jeff Bridges leaned back and said, Can we just all calm the f— down? I mean, c’mon. I’m talking about, you know, all the wars, the fighting, the canceling. I mean, let’s just chill out, man. C’mon, tone it down.”

Bridges also threw in a cheeky jab at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), saying, “Let’s get ICE off our streets and into our beverages, man.” Then, he called for unity: “So let’s just abide together. Yes, we can do this.”

The 75-year-old actor’s quirky, quick-witted remarks had everyone cheering and clapping nonstop. Moreover, Kimmel’s sidekick, Guillermo Rodriguez, joined in Bridges’ act with a matching sweater and a cocktail in hand.

For the unversed, “The Dude” is Jeff Bridges’ legendary character from the 1998 cult classic The Big Lebowski. Not too long ago, he even hinted he’s ready to get back into those laid-back shoes for a sequel alongside Julianne Moore.

That said, Bridges also admitted on Jimmy Kimmel’s show that the Coen brothers might not be totally on board. He laughed, saying, “I don’t think that’s really their style. But, hey, they surprise us all the time… If they called me up and said, ‘Hey, let’s do it again,’ I’d be like, ‘Absolutely, come on!’” (via Daily Mail)

Jeff Bridges’ jibe at the ICE is the latest of many from numerous members of the entertainment industry. This comes amidst the numerous immigration enforcement operations being carried out in Chicago.

Meanwhile, Tricia McLaughlin, the Assistant Secretary of Public Affairs for the Department of Homeland Security, criticized the Academy Award winner’s comments about ICE on Jimmy Kimmel Live! As per USA Today, she called his words “disgusting.” McLaughlin also stated that public figures should “stop demonizing our brave law enforcement.”
