Beloved Ted lasso Star Gets Married in Ireland

Actor and series co-creator Brendan Hunt, best known for playing Coach Beard in Ted Lasso, tied the knot with longtime partner and actress Shannon Nelson. To witness the big day and celebrate him, his co-actor Jason Sudeikis was there too. The wedding comes as fans await their on-screen reunion in Season 4 of Ted Lasso.

Brendan Hunt, who has made audiences laugh as the eccentric Coach Beard on Ted Lasso, surprised fans on October 8 by revealing that he and actress Shannon Nelson got married in Ireland. He shared a post on Instagram, writing, “Oh wait! I totally forgot to mention- me and @snoopshann got married in Ireland a couple weeks ago. NBD.”

The actor explained that the intimate event happened with “way less lead time” and “way fewer guests” than planned, making it a quiet but celebratory affair. Photos shared by Hunt and Nelson showed the couple smiling and holding hands, with Ted Lasso star Jason Sudeikis seen possibly officiating them. As Hunt added, “We’re pretty sure the dude who married us was only pretending to be a priest. But we just about pulled it off.”

The Bless This Mess star went on to gush about his wife, writing, “The bride was stunning, while the groom cleaned up reasonably well. Shout out to all the young-at-heart lovers out there. In the words of my aunt Ellen, ‘It’s so much better to have a teammate.'”

Notably, Apple TV+ confirmed earlier this year that Ted Lasso will return for a Season 4, with Sudeikis reprising his role as Ted, bringing the team back together. Co-creators Bill Lawrence, Brett Goldstein, and Hunt are all returning behind the scenes, joined by 30 Rock alum Jack Burditt.

Production reportedly began in July 2025, though Apple has yet to announce an official release date.
