Teresa Giudice recently opened up about her shock exit from Special Forces Season 4, leaving her daughter, Gia Giudice, behind to compete on the challenging reality show. The 53-year-old explained her decision in a new interview, where she also opened up about how hard it was for her to leave the show.

Teresa Giudice withdrew from the competition before her daughter took on the milling challenge. In this challenge, the recruits competed against each other. She told PEOPLE in a new interview that the main reason for her exit was her inability to watch her daughter getting hit. She also said she did not want her daughter to see her fighting.
“There was no way that I would be able to sit there and watch my daughter get punched as a mom,” Teresa told PEOPLE, “I would’ve probably definitely jumped in and I knew… And I didn’t want to show my daughter me actually fighting either.” She further admitted, “I’m sure Gia would’ve did the same for me, or maybe not. Maybe she would’ve restrained herself because we were on Special Forces.”
She added, “But I just didn’t want to show my daughter. I didn’t want to see her getting hit and I didn’t want her to see me fighting…It took everything in me to leave, it really did.” But she remained confident in Gia. “But I knew she was going to be okay. I know my kid, so I knew she was going to be fine,” she added.
Teresa said that she cried the whole night after leaving the show. She even cried on her way to the airport. She recalled, “I wasn’t myself until Gia came home. I really wasn’t. Even Luis said, he’s like, ‘I feel like you’ve changed,…He’s like, ‘What happened to you?’ I was like, ‘Yeah, I was… It took a lot out of me. It really did.’”
She further revealed that Gia understood and respected her decision to leave.
