Meghan Markle and Anna Wintour recently attended Paris Fashion Week on the same day. A video shared on X [formerly Twitter] showed the former actress arriving at the Balenciaga fashion show. She looked gorgeous in a white ensemble with a no-makeup look. The duchess stopped moving forward when she spotted Wintour.
They greeted each other and shared side-cheek kisses. While Wintour mentioned that seeing her was nice, the As Ever founder asked how she was doing. The 75-year-old praised the duchess’s outfit, saying, “Beautiful, Cherie. You look amazing.”
Their interaction appeared heartfelt; however, body language expert Judi James claimed otherwise. She told Mirror that the 44-year-old’s meeting with Wintour was “much more like a top-drawer fashionista ritual.” The source explained that Markle’s gesture and “air-kiss ritual” could be used on “friends and foes alike.”
James disagreed that a “genuine affection” was on display. “But at least they both looked keen to announce a friendship to the world here,” she added.
For those unversed, Markle worked with Wintour and Vogue’s editor-in-chief, Edward Enninful, in the 2019 British edition. According to the outlet, the then-royal’s alleged “demands” caused a feud between the three. Things reportedly escalated when the “Suits” alum approached Wintour after Enninful did not apparently fulfill her requests.
However, the recent reunion at the Paris Fashion Week showed that the two ladies seemingly maintain a cordial relationship. The “With Love, Meghan” host donned a white suited look and a cape at the event.
