In a rather bizarre development during the Buffalo Bills’ Sunday night game against the New England Patriots at Highmark Stadium, a fan grabbed a ball thrown by Josh Allen and sprinted toward the exits before security could catch him. In this surprising twist, the fan managed to land himself the ultimate souvenir.

Footage of the incident has since gone viral, drawing plenty of reactions across social media platforms like X and Instagram.

Fan grabs Josh Allen’s pass and exits the stadium after evading security

The incident occurred at Highmark Stadium when the current NFL MVP, Josh Allen, threw the ball a bit too hard, and it went into the stands. As the Buffalo Bills were losing 10–7 at the time, Josh Allen tried to throw a pass that went out of bounds and into the crowd. The pass was caught by a fan wearing a Matt Milano jersey.

The fan spoke hurriedly to a bystander, as seen in the footage, before making a dash for the exits. He sprinted up the stairs at full speed, all the while the commentators covered the incident. The camera caught the fan briefly at places, but he soon disappeared into the crowd, and hopefully, out of the stadium.

Many fans claimed that this was the most exciting event in the night that ended with the Bills’ 23–20 home defeat to the New England Patriots.

The footage of the incident was reposted by several publications on different social media platforms. @BleacherReport posted the clip on X, which incited many fun reactions. “He’s in row 10, he’s in row 15 … maybe he doesn’t want to be on TV., he’s gone!,” the caption of the video read, quoting Mike Trico.

Many had interesting things to say about this. “By far the most exciting play of the game,” one user commented. Another user said, “Only Josh Allen could throw a pass so perfect that the receiver leaves mid-game.”

This is indeed one of the standout incidents in recent years, and it will be remembered by fans for quite some time to come.
