Keith Urban’s four tattoos dedicated to his soon-to-be-ex-wife, Nicole Kidman, have resurfaced amid the news of their divorce. The 57-year-old country singer got his most recent tattoo, the word “Babygirl” tattooed on the back of his neck.
In addition to being a common term of endearment, “Babygirl” is the name of a 2024 film starring Kidman in the lead role, in which she plays an older, married woman who embarks on a passionate affair with her much younger intern. In a November 2024 interview with W magazine, Kidman confessed, “Keith’s not allowed to call anyone else Babygirl. But now, because of the film, it’s taken on a different meaning. So he’s like, ‘No, I still have total rights over Babygirl!’”
The singer also tattooed his wife’s name, “Nicole,” on his bicep a year after their marriage in 2007. (via PEOPLE)
The former American Idol judge got his wife’s middle name, “Mary,” tattooed on his knuckles. According to US Weekly, the “Somebody Like You” crooner first gave fans a glimpse of his “Mary” tattoo—inked over his four fingers—at the ACM Awards in April 2021.
The 57-year-old country singer tattooed another variation of his wife’s name, her initials “NMK”, on the inside of his wrist. “NMK” refers to Nicole Mary Kidman. This tattoo, however, has an interesting backstory, as it was not originally meant for Kidman at all. It was originally a matching tattoo he had gotten with his ex-girlfriend, Niki Taylor, and converted into “NMK” after marrying Kidman.
According to TMZ, Kidman and Urban separated on September 29, and the actress filed for divorce on September 30 in Nashville, on the grounds of “irreconcilable differences.”
